Thomaz Novais Rocha holds a doctorate in Business Administration from the Fundação Getúlio Vargas – EAESP (Brazil), where he served as a research assistant at the Center for Entrepreneurship and New Ventures (FGVcenn). He also holds a Master’s degree in Administration from the University of Fortaleza (UNIFOR) and a Bachelor’s degree in Administration from the Centro Universitário 7 de Setembro (UNI7). He is currently a UC-funded postdoctoral researcher in a project sponsored by the Institute of Applied Ethics (IEA), the School of Management (EA), and the Institute for Sustainable Development (IDS) at the same university. He works with professors Alejandra Marinovic (IEA) and Ignacio Pavez (Universidad de Chile).
His main line of research concerns social entrepreneurship in its various dimensions. He has studied the development of social entrepreneurs, specifically with regard to social, human, and psychological capital, and how support organizations for these ventures facilitate such processes. He also investigates the factors that influence consumer purchase intentions toward social enterprises. His other research lines address topics such as corporate social irresponsibility and digital transformation in emerging contexts. His postdoctoral project analyzes ethical decision-making processes in Chilean social enterprises.
